Valerie Fritz

Valerie studies cello at Mozarteum University in the class of Giovanni Gnocchi, in Salzburg, Austria. She started lessons with her mother Susanne Fritz and in the Tyrolean State Conservatory. She has been member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), the Luzern Festival Academy Orchestra (LFAO), the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra (SOL) and the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra (WJO) with conductors like Bernard Haitink, Gianandrea Noseda, Matthias Pintscher and Péter Eötvös.

 

She has played as soloist with the orchestras of Salzburg University, Innsbruck Conservatory and Walzerklang Ensemble. She has a strong interest in contemporary music  and collaborates often with the Austrian Ensemble for New Music (œnm) and the New Art and Music Ensemble Salzburg (NAMES), besides curating the concert series nɔɪz//Elektrorauschen in Innsbruck.

 

Valerie is winner of the Enrico Mainardi Cello Competition, scholarship holder of the Jaroussky Academy in Paris and winner of the Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2021.
