
Simona Štangová
Simona studied at Anton Bruckner Universität in Linz, Austria, graduating in 2019. She started dancing at age 5 and later on in the Conservatory J.L. Bellu in Banská Bystrica, where she also took part of the Conservatory’s company.
Since 2014 she is based in Linz and has danced in projects by Ladislav Cmorej, Anatoliy Ivanov and Ola Osowicz, State Opera in Banská Bystrica, Landestheatre Linz, Kunstuni Graz, Tomáš Moravanský, Jaskaran Anand and Editta Braun. After 2015, she started choreographing with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary work and has premiered the pieces „Drinking Song“, „Compass Border“, „Plasticine“, „Minor ChangE“ and „Stubborn Lead“.
Since 2021, she is founder and artistic director of the dance company La Intempestiva alongside the Costa Rican dancer Reinier Martínez. She has taught workshops at Festival Paréntesis UCR, Compañía de Cámara CCDUNA, RedSapata Linz, Hábitat Oaxaca, among others. Their work has been performed in Europe and Latin America and is supported by Land Salzburg, Stadt Salzburg, Land Oberösterreich and BMEIA.
She has performed and taught in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Czechia, Romania, Costa Rica, Mexico, Moldova, Italy, Poland and Slovenia.
