Reinier Martínez Badilla

Reinier studied at SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria, graduating in 2018. He is a master student in Movement Reseach at Anton Bruckner Universität, Linz. He started his dance education at the National University (UNA) in Costa Rica.

 

Since 2014 he is based in Salzburg and has worked in productions with Salzburg Festspiele, Bad Hall Stadttheater, Stiftung Mozarteum, Mozarteum University, Colectivo El Cuerpo Habla, Jorge Sánchez, Anastasia Valsamaki and Michikazu Matsune. He has taught workshops at Anton Bruckner Universität (IDA), Compañía CCDUNA, Festival Paréntesis UCR, Tanzhafen Festival, ImPulsTanz Public Moves, Contemporary Prague, MST Tyumen, Hábitat Oaxaca, among others.

Since 2021, he is founder and artistic director of the dance company La Intempestiva, alongside the Slovak dancer Simona Štangová. He is curator of the Linz based perfomance program LofTanz and works as professional lighting designer specialized in contemporary dance since 2016. Their work has been performed in Europe and Latin America and is supported by Land Salzburg, Stadt Salzburg, Land Oberösterreich and BMEIA.

He has performed, taught and collaborated in productions in Austria, Germany, Czechia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panamá, Guatemala, Mali, Kenia and both European and Siberian Russia.
